A budapesti New Level Empire együttest az elektronikus popzene – ezen belül is elsősorban lemezlovasok által képviselt dance – rockzenei alapokkal való egyesítésének és zenekari felállásban való megszólaltatásának gondolata hívta életre 2013-ban. A live act zenekar ötletgazdái Nyújtó Sándor (DJ Newl) dobos és Krajczár Péter (Krash) billentyűs voltak, akik a televíziós műsorvezetőjeként is tevékenykedő Ujvári Zoltán Szilveszter (Zola) dalszerző-szövegíró-énekes-gitáros és Mayer Petra (Shizuka) underground DJ bevonásával alakították meg a formációt.
Első slágerükkel (The Last One) A Dal című euróvíziós előválogató nyolcas döntőjéig jutottak (2014), de a Mahasz hivatalos dallistáján, a VIVA Chart-on és az iTunes eladási listáján is előkelő helyeken szerepelt a nevük. Hasonlóan sikeres volt debütáló albumuk, az angol nyelvű Homelights (2014) is, melynek címadó szerzeménye A Dal középdöntőjébe juttatta a csapatot (2015), míg a korong másik slágere, a Son Of The Sun a rádiós listákat vezette. Első magyar nyelvű szerzeményük, a Denizzel közös Valahol (2016) fontos mérföldkő a formáció történetében, ugyanis a kedvező fogadtatás hatására végleg magyarra váltottak, amint ez a későbbi albumaikon (Valahol valamit valakivel, 2017, Megtörténünk, 2020) hallható.
A jelenleg Nyújtó Sándor, Krajczár Péter, Ujvári Zoltán Szilveszter, valamint Seprényi Fanni (basszusgitár) és Takács Dávid (gitár) alkotta New Level Empire különös ismertetőjele, hogy előszeretettel készít közös dalokat más előadókkal, együttesekkel és hogy számos szerzeménye lett különböző rendezvények, események „himnusza”. Sikeresen kooperáltak például a Republickal (Valódi, 2018), Majkával (Újra úton, 2020) és Curtis-szel (Az első és utolsó, 2021), míg a Hold Your Hands So High a 2014-es női kézilabda-Európa-bajnokság, az Odafuthatnánk a 2018-as Strand Fesztivál, az Áthajózhatnánk pedig a balatoni hajózás dala lett. 
A 2022-es év különösen eredményes volt az együttes számára, mert harmadik alkalommal nyerték el a Fonogram-díjat elektronikus zene kategóriában, megjelent egy négyszámos EP-ük (New Level Campfire), valamint két újabb daluk is napvilágot látott: a Nem hagylak egyedül című nótát a HoneyBeast-tel, a Felhők alatt című szerzeményt a Draft zenekarral jegyzik közösen.
